For Our 22nd Wedding Anniversary, we relaxed & happened to find a Hawaiian Luau in San Marcos.
At the Vintana Restaurant, actually ON Our Anniversary, Luau on the Lanai. Was a very relaxing evening, lots of good food, entertainment & some spirit tastings.
For Our 21st Anniversary, we took the boys (& Jenn's new car) to Solvang. Lilly had work & school, so she couldn't make the trip.
We wandered around Solvang on Our Anniversary, & everyone got to try Aebleskiver. While we were in the area, we drove north & did a walking tour of CalPoly! We also got to watch a SpaceX launch from Vandenberg. Was a nice, fun trip.
For Our 20th Wedding Anniversary, we took the kids to Hawaii.
We did enjoy the Ala Moana Luau on our 20th Anniversary - lots of history & good food along with the entertainment. Spent a day touring Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona Memorial & Downtown Honolulu. We also went snorkeling with sea turtles.
Unfortunately, our actual Anniversary was treated as any other workday. And Jenn wasn't feeling well all day. But a week or so later, we enjoyed a night out with some good friends - Rod & Jill. We all went out to dinner, & took in a show - One of our favorite Comedians was in town - Ron White (aka Tater Salad)!
It was a relaxing evening, if you don't count laughing our butt's off!
For our anniversary this year, we pretty much repeated last year - relaxing by the pool & a family game night. Nope, we did not win 'One Million Dollars', but we did win a mortgage payment for our Anniversary.
Troy smoked his first brisket. 16lbs of BEEF!!! Smoked for 14-1/2 hours saturday night thru sunday afternoon!
Thanks to the scam that is - the covid lockdown. A year wiped out, a family done with "social distancing". We escaped our cave to hit Julian for some berry picking in the morning. Then had a few friends over for a BBQ poolside at home.
A quiet evening at home. After all, we'd just traveled to the Grand Canyon, Tucson, & Tombstone. Then had the back patio rebuilt & re-roofed. Sometimes quiet is all you need.
We met Ralph, Deana, & the kids in Las Vegas for week. The kids got to experience many incredible & some scary sights at Fremont St, Hoover Dam, etc. But some of the best experiences were the Ethel M Chocolate Factory tour/tasting & the National Atomic Testing Museum. This trip also included our first Black Bear Diner experience.
Fish tacos & beer at the pier, Thai for lunch. A relatively quiet weekend.
Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim.
